Steventon scarecrows

The Steventon Scarecrow idea came to fruition during discussions at the Steventon Art Steering group. As the participating artist I volunteered to engage with the community via social media, word of mouth, posters and public places such as the school, the church, the North Star and the CO-OP. Many residents made and displayed, bringing much needed light hearted fun in these turbulent times. It is hoped that the scarecrow festival will be a continuous community project with a participatory team, registration of each scarecrow to create a trail to follow and a suggested theme. The scarecrows included a handmade ’congregation‘ in St. Michael’s church, thanks to the vicar Philip Sutton.

Above all thank you Steventon community.
